Charter 2008 Goals and Objectives

The Committee Charter:Establish liaison between laboratory managers and Metrologists throughout the Testing Laboratory sector to examine areas of mutual concern. Through discussions, papers, workshops, and contributions from NIST and other sections of the Metrology community, develop recommended practices and guidelines that will enable laboratory managers and Metrologists to operate their facilities more efficiently.
2008 Goals and Objectives
1. Submit two articles on Committee activities to the NCSLI Newsletter.
2. Develop articles to exchange information between Metrologists and testing laboratory managers that will enable Testing Laboratory managers and Metrologists to operate their facilities more efficiently.
3. Identify meeting venues outside NCSLI for distribution of papers and presentations.
4. Develop outreach materials to distribute to the calibration and testing laboratory community. (e.g.; road show presentations and papers).
5. Identify publications for submittal of articles on the need for communication between metrologists and testing laboratory personnel.
6. Continue liaison with other NCSLI Committees as appropriate during the NCSLI Conference

2009- 2012 Goals and Objectives
1. Plan activities for the Testing Laboratory Metrology community that will further enhance the transfer of information, and improve laboratory efficiency and productivity.
2. Develop and share information regarding standards or practices relative to testing laboratories
3. Determine if the development of requirements documents are necessary for aiding interface between the testing and calibration communities
4. Determine need for harmonization and communication related to reference material needs among NMIs, calibration and testing communities.
5. Submit two articles to the NCSLI Newsletter each year
